Would you like some support to make small, achievable changes that could help boost your health and wellbeing?

People registered with a GP practice in North Ayrshire can now access a year’s free membership to Holly Health, a mobile app for healthy habit coaching.

Using a compassionate, personalised approach tailored to your own health goals, interests and activities, the app can help you to reduce stress and anxiety, rebuild your relationship with food, increase exercise and movement and improve your sleep.

Holly Health will assist you in making small but consistent changes to your daily behaviours, helping you build healthier habits, promoting mindfulness and encouraging you to be more kind to yourself.

In-app coaching is available through a supportive chat bot system, with friendly, motivational reminders by text or email to keep you on the right track.

The app also contains a wealth of useful articles and videos that you can browse at your leisure.

Dr Iain Jamieson, Clinical Director at North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “Life is complicated and busy, and it’s so easy to forget the most important thing of all – our health!

“This excellent little app provides a much-needed nudge in the right direction, with reams of health information that’s been validated by NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

“I can’t recommend it strongly enough, and with health service at full stretch right now that little bit of extra help could make all the difference. Holly health could easily be renamed ‘Holly help’, because that’s what it does - it helps!

“Give it a try. Your body and mind will thank you for taking the time to make a couple of clicks.”

Funded by North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, you can sign up for an initial free six-month subscription by visiting the Holly Health page of the our website and clicking on the name of your GP practice. You do not need to book an appointment with your GP to access the app.

You will then be invited to a further six-month subscription for free on completion of your first six months on the app.
