Childhood immunisations
Our Childhood Immunisation Team undertake the immunisation requirements for all children within North Ayrshire. These clinics are held on a regular basis within all GP practices.
The School Immunisation Team based in North Ayrshire undertake all routine school immunisation programmes, Ayrshire-wide.
Immunisation helps to protect your child from serious disease whilst also helping protect the wider community.
Details of immunisations
Children require immunisation at the recommended times.
You can find a list of when your child will be offered immunisations below.
- 8 weeks old: six-in-one, rotavirus and MenB
- 12 weeks old: six-in-one, rotavirus and pneumococcal
- 16 weeks old: six-in-one and MenB
- 12 to 13 months: Hib/MenC, pneumococcal, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and MenB
- 2 to 5 years old: annual influenza vaccination
- 3 years and 4 months to 5 years old: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio, MMR
- 5 to 18 years old: influenza vaccine (via the School Immunisation Team)
In addition, secondary school pupils will be offered vaccination by the School Immunisation Team to protect them from:
- diphtheria
- tetanus
- polio
- meningococcal ACWY
- human papillomavirus (HPV)
- annual influenza
