Transfer between fostering agencies
If you are an approved foster carer for another Local Authority or fostering provider, you can transfer between agencies. The Families for Children Team in North Ayrshire can support and provide more information to carers who are considering transferring.
The Families for Children team has a clear process and procedures in place to support carers to transfer, which are in line with the Fostering Network’s transfer protocol.
The process for transferring depends on your own circumstances, registration, and whether you currently have children placed with you.
Foster Carers need to be registered with a fostering agency for a minimum of one year before transferring and must give written permission for information sharing between agencies and for the Form F Assessment and Fostering Panel review report to be made available.
