Children's rights
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which states that the rights of children should be protected and promoted in all aspects of their lives.
In July 2024, UNCRC was fully incorporated into Scots Law. This means that children’s rights are now legally protected. Public authorities have a duty to ensure they fulfil these rights. This includes North Ayrshire Council and NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership is committed to upholding the rights of all infants, children and young people. We aim to do this through our services.
