Help to pay heating bills is available through the winter fuel payment scheme.
Cold weather payments
If you get certain benefits you may be entitled to a cold weather payment when the temperature is either recorded as, or forecast to be, an average of zero degrees Celsius or below over 7 consecutive days.

Many utility companies now run charitable trusts for their most vulnerable customers. Applicants may have to meet certain qualifying conditions to apply such as having a disability, being in receipt of certain benefits or having a low household income.
